Stars produce different spectra mainly because of differences in their chemical composition and temperature. Star is the large shining sphere of hot gas. The main-sequence stars are made chiefly of hydrogen and a smaller amount of helium. The differences in chemical compositions of stars make them to produce more subtle effects and the appearance of each spectrum produced by the star relies mainly on the star’s temperature.
