How is sanitary landfill different from dump

A dump does not have leachate collection and treatment systems while a landfill does. 4. A landfill has a liner at the bottom to catch the liquid produced by solid waste while a dump does not have a liner.

    Answer: When a pile of the waste material containing different types of waste are dumped on a particular place they are called as dump. They are illegal and a person caught dumping can be fined. They are unhealthy for the environment.

    On the other hand the sanitary landfills are safer and legal and most of the sanitary landfills are organized by the management. This system is well organized land area that is used to treat sanitary waste. it has different compartments for treating the waste.
