    Leukemia is a term used to describe the increase in high number of abnormal white blood cells or excessive production and uncontrolled increase of immature white blood cells. This effect usually pose an increased risk of infections.

    Factors that result to Leukemia can be as a result of environmental activities such as exposure to ionizing radiation or it can be as a result of genetic mutation in the DNA. Mutations can trigger leukemia by activating oncogenes or deactivating tumor suppressor genes, and thereby disrupting the regulation of cell death, differentiation or division.
