Heart disease is the leading cause of death among both men and women in the United States. It is usually caused when a sticky substance called plaque builds up in the arteries. Often, the only symptoms of heart disease are chest pain or discomfort. Why do you think heart disease is so prevalent in the United States? How could heart disease affect other organ systems?

Well the main diet of the Americans are of junk food which contains fats and unhealthy cancer cells. hence, the cells will build up in their body, leading to the build up of plaque and heart disease.

heart disease means that it takes longer and it's harder for the heart to pump blood to the rest of the body. hence, other parts of the body such as liver and kidneys will receive less blood, leading to damaged organs.
