Malaria is one of the most common parasitic diseases in the world. It is caused by a protist from the genus Plasmodium and is carried by mosquitoes. When a mosquito carrying this protist punctures a human's skin, it releases sporozoite into the human. The effects on the human's internal environment are shown below.
