A hypothesis is a statement you make before you start your experiment. An experiment is the process when you have a number of steps trying to figure something out.

In science, an experiment is a series of steps carried out to discover something, verify an assumption, or practicalize a theory.
A hypothesis is a proposition made, with limited facts. It usually leads to further research for verification, and is not always correct.
