Answer: Other than electron microscope rest all the microscopes like darkfield, phase contrast, fluorescence, polarizing, brightfield are variations of Light Microscope. Light microscope is an microscope that is used to visualize objects not visible by naked eyes. This microscope uses light and magnifying lenses to see the objects more precisely. The main principle behind all the variations of light microscope is the light emitted that can be either polarising, bright field, or the difference in the phases as in case of phase contrast microscope. All the variations of light microscope uses light as a main source to identify and magnify objects. Electron microscope uses a beam of electron to focus on the specimen.
