    The statemnt is true. Mismach is base pairs is one of the common types of mutations, that occur. This may be due to substitution caused by purine by purine, and pyrimidine by pyrimidine. The other type is transversion, in which, purne is replaced by pyrimidine, and pyrimidine by purine.
