If a diploid cell in an animal has 50 chromosomes, how many chromosomes would the sperm/egg have?

    The answer: It is a diploid cell so each cell would have half the number of chromosomes altogether to make 50 chromosomes. In conclusion, the zygote would have 25 chromosomes.
