What are the disadvantages of long term use of antibiotics?

    One major disadvantage is that your body may build up an immunity to the antibiotic, which means you would not be able to use it in the future. For example, if your doctor prescribes amoxicillin for 6 months, the next time you get sick, you may not be able to use it.
