10. Why do you think it took so long for scientists to accept the idea of continental drift?

    Well, it took quite some time for actual scientific research to be put into the theory of continental drift. This was largely because the theory was originally proposed without any evidence provided and was apart of a much larger theory of "Pangea". It took time for the theory to be explored, thus it took a while for it to be accepted.
