The Labradoodle dog is a cross between a labrador retriever and a poodle.

    Explanation:

The cross or hybrid between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle is known as Labradoodle. Labrador retrievers are medium-large breed athletic dogs while poodles are small, active and intelligent dogs that come in three varieties - Standard Poodle, Miniature Poodle, and Toy Poodle.

Being a mixed breed, the labradoodle dogs have the appearance, intelligence, temperament and health issues such as eye diseases, hip and elbow dysplasia, Addison's disease, etc from either parent. They are friendly, highly intelligent and high energy dog that needs exercise on a regular basis.

They are classified based on their physical traits such as the type of coat and the color of the coat they have. Their coat can be wavy, curly or straight with wiry or soft hair and the color of the coat can be white, black, red, chocolate or golden. There are Australian Labradoodles and multi-generation Labradoodles.

F1 generation Labradoodles - They are a first-generation mix of purebred Poodles and purebred Labrador Retrievers in a 50:50 ratio.

F1-B generation Labradoodles - They are a mix of purebred Poodles and F1 Labradoodle and so the resultant dog is 25% Labrador and 75% Poodle.

F2 generation Labradoodles - Here, both the parents are F1 Labradoodles.

F3 generation Labradoodles - Here, both the parents are F2 Labradoodles.
