The correct answer is A substrate molecule bound to an active site affects the active site of the several subunits.

    Explanation:

When a substrate molecule binds to the active site of the enzyme and effect the affinity of rest other binding sites of the enzyme for that substrate, this phenomenon is called enzyme co operativity.

For example binding of oxygen with hemoglobin is co operative in nature that means the binding of one molecule of oxygen to an oxygen binding site of hemoglobin increases the affinity of rest 3 binding sites of hemoglobin for oxygen. Hemoglobin contain 4 oxygen binding sites.
