Photosynthesis occurs in two sets of reactions within the chloroplast: light-dependent reactions and light-independent (dark) reactions. light-independent reactions occur in the stroma, or the thick fluid located between the grana, of chloroplasts. what is the main purpose of photosynthetic light-independent (dark) reactions?
