    Growth hormone is not a tropic hormone. This is because, unlike tropic hormones, it does not target other endocrine glands.

    Growth hormone affects bones and muscles. It promotes long bone growth during the formative years. It also targets many organs to stimulate growth by promoting fat breakdown and protein synthesis.
