Bruxism is a condition in which individuals clench or grind their teeth. It often occurs as they sleep, leading to jaw pain and damaged teeth. Which muscles contract during this nocturnal event?

    Bruxism is a condition in which the person grind or clash teeth. A person may unconsciously clench teeth when he is awake or even when they are sleeping.

    It is a kind of sleep related disorder which is also associated with snoring, pause in breathing.

    It can be frequent and sever and the muscles responsible for sleeping bruxism is masseter and temporalis.
