Why is it important for living things to maintain a relatively stable internal environment?

    Maintenance of stable internal environment by living organisms is called homeostasis.

    Homeostasis is very important because cells depend on the body internal environmental condition to function maximally. When this condition is altered, cells will not be able to perform their expected functions and this may lead to a lot of fatal crisis in the body.
