Read the scenario below and choose the best possible answer:There are a variety of types of Galapagos Finches. Each type of finch has a different type of beak. Each bird with a varying beak uses it to find, gather, and open different types of seed across the Galapagos Islands. Depending on what type of beak the bird has will determine what types of seed each bird will be able to eat, and where each bird will be able to live, reproduce, and thrive. Some of the birds may not survive at all, if they cannot find an environment with the correct seed suited for their beak size. Which process best explains why birds with varying beak size may or may not survive in certain environments?

This is an example of natural selection. The finches with the most ideal beaks survive because the environment they live in allows them to gather resources more easily than other species.
