This quote is similar to the quote "You miss 100% of the shots you don't make" If you aren't alive then you eliminate all possibilities of happiness and hope. If you are alive then you are able to create those chances.

If you are alive and survive, you are going to be create multiples that are distinctive from you in which they use those traits and those multiples will survive out alive just like you.
