White light can be dispersed into visible light based on each color's wavelength.

White light is the complete combination of all of the wavelengths of the visible spectrum in roughly equal amounts. White light can be produced by various sources both on earth and in space. White light can be dispersed into visible light based on each color's wavelength. Each of the color has a certain wave frequency. When white light is passed through a triangular glass prism, it is separated into its component colors which include: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet (a process known as dispersion). The different frequencies of light waves will disperse and bend in different amounts as they move through the triangular prism.
