Ureteritis is the inflammation of the ureter or the tube that lead from the bladder to the kidney.

    Explanation:

The ureter is the tube that connects the bladder to the kidney. The ureter wall muscles contract and relax continuously to force and transport the urine collected in the bladder to the kidneys.

The inflammation may be due to bacterial or viral infections or pyelonephritis. Any inflammation in the ureters can lead to blockage of the urine leading to kidney infection. This inflammation to spread to other regions of urinary system leading to urosepsis.

A rare inflammatory condition called ureteritis cystica occurs due to benign inflammatory reaction of the urothelial tissues lining the ureters due to infection or any other irritation.
