A test mating of organisms is called as the "cross"
Explanation:
This phenomenon is done where the genetic orientation is not known, of an organism whose genetic make up for a trait there determines to which the gene will be carried by the former. It is the cross between the homozygous recessive and with the corresponding suspected heterozygote to determine the genotype later. The organism which is crossed with another organism that is homozygous for the recessive trait and thus the offspring of the test cross are studied.
