In this type of situation Survival of the Fittest and Evolution would take place. The population will begin to shrink drastically as they are easy prey in this new environment. Those that manage to survive will begin to adapt in order to better survive. As the years go by the population will begin to evolve into a species that will both survive and thrive in this wooded environment. Such as a species with a darker color for starters.
