    There are four basic types of animal tissue - epithelium, connective, nervous, and muscle tissue. Epithelial cells form epithelium which covers surfaces of blood vessels and organs in the body. All glands are, as well, made of epithelial cells. Also, e pithelial cells grow close together to form the body's skin.
