I believe you meant to say neck of a person with goiter. What is a goiter? A goiter is simply a thyroid gland that has become enlarged. The thyroid gland is located on the lower part of the front of the neck, just in front of the trachea (windpipe) It has two lobes, the left and the right lobe. It is roughly shaped as a butterfly. A goiter can mean all or part of the thyroid gland is swollen and when this happens, it causes a swelling in the neck which you can actually see.
