In which case is an inherited mutation most likely to be expressed? It will be expressed only if the mutation is present in the gametes. It will be expressed only if the mutation affects the germ line of the offspring. The offspring will not express the mutation but the next generation will. An inherited mutation will never be expressed because the offspring won't survive.

    Explanation:

    An inherited mutation will be expressed only if it is present in the gametes. It is because of the fact that gametes fuse to form zygote which is the first cell of next generation. So, if mutation is there in the gametes then it will pass on to the next generation through gametes. But, if the parents have a mutation in their somatic cells in that case the mutation will be confined to only parents and it will not pass on to the next generation because somatic cells do not play any direct role in reproduction.
