A hurricane is a tropical cyclone usually happen in the Caribbean during July and October. Winds can sometimes exceed 74 mph. With this information we can conclude that A (Hurricanes tend to deposit more sediment than they remove) is incorrect. We can also conclude that C (Hurricanes have wind gusts that are fast but generally weak) is wrong since winds can be as fast at 74 mph and D (Hurricanes do not alter landscapes significantly) is also incorrect since they have enough force to change the landscapes as little or as much as possible. With this in mind we can determine that the correct answer is B (Hurricanes have storm surges that cause widespread flooding) since during a hurricane there is a lot of rain and along with the wind flooding can happen easily.
