Closed reduction is the process which places the fractured bone in a right place or aligns it properly to make the healing process faster and better. Proper alignment of fractured bone is a must.

Closed reduction process does not require any surgery to fix the bone whereas open reduction requires surgery to be done. Reduction does not mean to remove the bone rather it means to restore the correct structure of the bone.
