Only an experiment can prove whether the proposed hypothesis is true or not true.
Hypothesis can be described as a tentative statement which can either be supported by the results from the experiments or can be rejected by the results of the experiments. When repeated experiments give the same results again and again, the hypothesis might take the shape of a law.
