The nucleus of a cell is the control center. It also stores the cells
DNA. It is not present in bacteria, they have more of just random nuclear material spread throughout the cell.

The nucleus carries out all the basic living functions of a cell. It is kinda like a brain, except for controlling the whole body, it just controls that individual cell.
