The chemotaxis an positional cues stimulates the pseudopodia for the movement in a direction:

Explanation: Pseudopodia are cytoplasmic projections of the unicellular organisms or small protocist. Like amoeba has small projections known as pseudopodia. The stimulus for the pseudopodia to cause movement is chemotaxis. Which is they move from one place to another for the food, oxygen and growth. All these processes are stimulated by chemotaxis. The chemicals of food stimulate the pseudopodia of organism to move the amoeba in direction of food.
