Living cells synthesize long chains of amino acids called proteins. Which substance provides the information needed to correctly sequence the amino acids during protein synthesis?

    Genes contain the information. Genes are made up of DNA. To make a protein, a mRNA (messenger ribonucleic acid) copy is made from the specific gene (this is called transcription) and then transferred to the ribosome.
