    Explanation:

    DNA undergoes semi-conservative replication where the double-stranded parent DNA splits in two.

    Then, the nucleotide sequence on each strand is read by the enzyme, DNA polymerase and newly synthesized strand that is complimentary to the splitted parent strand is generated and paired to it.
