    25) The theory of vitalism was essential to distinguish inorganic matter from organic matter. According to this theory, organic matter are matter that has life and cannot be made artificially. However, when Friedrich Wohler was able to synthesize urea from cyanic acid and ammonium, both being inorganic matter. Because of this, the theory of vitalism was rejected.

    26) They break things down to be digested, speeding up the digestion process. Without them we'd take weeks or months to digest our food, we wouldn't be able to survive that way.
