A pyramid of numbers contains the number of organisms in each trophic level. However, these are not always an accurate representation of the trophic levels. This is because there may be one large producer or a small number of very large producers. For example, adult oak trees are extremely large and a single one may be home to hundreds of organisms. Thus, the number of organisms in the lower level of the pyramid of numbers will be less. However, when we will consider the pyramid of biomass, it will be the larger at the bottom.
