    Hermit crabs are multicellular.

    Hermit crabs are termed as decapod crustaceans of the super family paguroidea.

    Most species have long, spiral abdomens, and they are soft. Hermit crab carries vulnerable abdomen which is protected from predators by salvaged empty seashell.

    Tip of hermit crabs abdomen which is adapted to clasp strongly on to columella of snail shell.

    Most of the hermit crabs are nocturnal. Hermit crabs is divided into two groups which are; marine hermit crabs and land hermit crabs.
