Hypoxia is inadequate oxygen delivery to body tissues. The form of hypoxia that reflects poor oxygen delivery resulting from too few Rbcs of from Rbcs that contain abnormal or too little hemoglobin is the Anemic hypoxia. Hemoglobin plays a substantial role in carrying oxygen through out the body, and when it is deficient, anemia can result, causing anaemic hypoxia' if tissue perfusion is decreased. Iron deficiency is the most common cause of anemia.
