The human body starts off with 270 bones at birth, then that number decreases to 206 as the body enters adulthood due to bones fusing together

On average, a baby would born with 270 bones.

As we grow up, some of the bones would be joined together through various types of membranes in order make us able to do a much complicated movements compared to when we're still a baby.

At the peak of our adulthood, people on average would have 206 bones in total.
