    Given that 5% of people waiting for a kidney transplant die every year before a donor is found, therefore,

    We can say out of 80,000 people on the waiting list, 5% of them must have died. That is:

    5%/100% * 80,000 = 4,000 people.

    If 4,000 people on the waiting list is dead, we have 76,000 people who are still alive to find a donor. i. e. 80,000 less 4,000 = 76,000

    Out of this 76,000 people who eventually get a donor for kidney transplant, 85% will still be alive. That is:
