    The Normal Curve or bell-shaped curve is used to decribe IQ and test scores distribution such as SAT, ACt. PSAt etc. So the results of a test can be used to rank sudents in relation to others and how rare theor common the score is.

    A state lottery uses mathematical models to predict how many peolpe might win a lottery so they can esitmate income and expenses for the game. they can alos detect anyone who seems to have too good luck, like winning every other week etc. Casnios use to insure they make money becasue the ods always favor the house winning more often than the players.

    Average strenght of materials is used by engineering to desing buliding and bridges. by using these values they can predict how a bridge will act under certain loads, such as maximum safe rate.

    Weather surface use models to predict flooding my traking reainfalls in the catchment area.
