All cancers begin in normal cells, however, there is an abnormal change that occurs that causes normal cells to transform in to cancer cells. This process is known as carcinogenesis. It is also known as oncogenesis, or tumorigenesis. This transformation is a process that happens over time. These changes or mutations in the DNA are disruptive to was was once an organised process, and results in uncontrolled cell division, and can lead to tumors.
