    Unlike herbivores, carnivores rely chiefly on the flesh of other animals, and do not eat plants. Carnivores obtain nutrition as well as energy from animal tissue, by scaneging or predation. They are positioned at the top of the food chain, and are called as apex predators.

    Herbivores have a more particular digestive system than that of a carnivore since it is harder to process vegetation than meat. The teeth are level so that grass and plant material can be ground down, instead of the sharp teeth of carnivores intended to tear flesh. g.
