Human activity has increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The carbon dioxide not only remains in the air, but also enters into the oceans. Explain how the increased level of carbon dioxide in the ocean water has the potential to affect biodiversity. Then, predict what would happen to ocean ecosystems as a result of this loss.

    Increased levels of CO2 decreases DO levels in the water and suffocates organisms, leading to population drops that can cause a genetic bottle neck effect, thus decreasing overall biodiversity. This could lead to extinction
