How many double stranded chromosomes does mitosis start with?

    You start with 46 chromosomes (92 chromatids) and then the chromatids replicate and make 46 pairs of chromosomes which will eventually divide through the rest of mitosis making 2 daughter cells, each with 46 chromosomes (23 pairs).
