The water moves from the soil and eventually all the other places to the ocean only.

The ponds, lakes and other water bodies flows the water to the ocean. The soil consists of zone of aeration where there is aeration which means the water has some amount of air in it.

Then it moves down into the one of saturation where there is only water. Then water from there moves into the nearby water bodies to the ocean.

This is how the ground water flows from the soil to the ocean.
