Yes it can. Non disjunction is actually the main cause for Polyploidies such as trisomy because of which in a meiotic cell division a problem in the spindle fiber formation can cause an abnormal number of chromosomes towards one pole. Resulting in one cell with 3 copies of a chromosome and one cell with only one.
