Photosynthesis, which creates the biological molecule used for fuel occurs in the chloroplast of spirogyra cell. The chloroplast of Spirogyra is a long, spirally coiled ribbon shaped with Pyrenoids. Pyrenoids are protein containing structures, which store starch around them and arranged in a single series in the mid axial line of chloroplast.
