Compute A population of 100 flowering plants contains 60 plants that are homozygous for orange flowers (OO), 30 plants that are heterozygous for orange flowers (Oo), and 10 plants that are homozygous for white flowers (oo). Determine the frequency of the O allele and the frequency of the o allele in this population.

    O allele 60 + 60+30 = 150

    o allele

    30 + 10+10 = 50

    O allele frequency = 150/200 = 0.75

    Thus, the O allele frequency is 3/4 or 0.75

    o allele frequency = 50/200 = 0.25

    The o allele frequency is 1/4 or 0.25
