Starch is a polysaccharide. Monosaccharide is the basic unit of carbohydrates and it is a simple sugar. Polysaccharide is composed of a large number of monosaccharide units bound by glycosidic bonds.
Starch consists of a large number of units of glucose, a monosaccharide, units bound by glycosidic bonds. This suggests that starch must be a polysaccharide.

Monosaccharide means having one (mono) sugar in its structure, Starch is not a monomer but a tertiary level structure made by the joining of Glucose monomers with branching chains making Starch a Poly (many) saccharide.
