    When you talk about species in a scientific context, you would want to make sure that you are not misunderstood. Therefore, it is good to use names that are the same everywhere: and using Latin names is the convention, this way people from other countries will understand you too! So the problem is that common names are different in different languages (=correct answer). (Actually this also makes them differ in different locations and cultures, but it's secondary to language)
